Underground Fault Locating

This is the 'Bible' for Electrical Underground Fault Location. It covers all the known ways of finding LV and HV faults. The basic methods as described in the book are all still valid even though the book is now decades old. The improvements that have been and are still being made are in the use of more computer based algorithms to make the task of operating the equipment and getting to a result much simpler. It describes the different types of fault that may occur and the various techniques that can be used to establish a pre locate distance to a fault. It also covers the HV techniques of how to pin point the exact location of the fault depending upon the characteristics of the fault before digging a hole in the ground.

A must have on every engineers shelf. Very comprehensive and well structured. This books seems to cover all possible aspects for electrical cable fault locations methods. The book can be read end to end or can be picked through for specific needs. We use this for our primary and recurrent training of our field staff and engineers. We are using the 2003 updated edition. In this edition, Mr. Clegg supplied references to all known manufacturers of cable fault location equipment. -J9
